KUALA LUMPUR: An average 1.4 million motorists used the North-South Expressway daily from Aug 29 to 31.
Many motorists travelled at staggered hours to avoid traffic congestion and enjoyed the rebates that were given.
The announced rebates of 20 per cent for Aug 25 and 26, and 10 per cent for Aug 30 and 31, saw many motorists take advantage of the discounts. The toll rebates were given to Touch 'n Go users.
Motorist can redeem the rebates from Oct 15 until Dec 31 at any reload Touch 'n Go counter or PLUS customer service centre.
PLUS Expressways corporate communications general manager Khalilah Mohd Talha said Aug 25 saw 739,000 motorists take advantage of the rebates given while Aug 26 recorded 842,000 motorists.
"Aug 29 saw entry figures at 753,000 and exit figures at 1.1 million road users while Aug 30 recorded 759,000 entering the expressways and one million exiting them.
"The second day of Raya recorded the highest numbers, with 917,000 motorists entering and 1.2 million exiting the expressways.
PLUS anticipated 1.4 million cars on its expressways daily during the Raya rush, with 1,000 additional toll counters being opened to cater to the increased traffic on these days.
Motorists also enjoyed a 20 per cent rebate when they travelled along PLUS expressways yesterday and will also enjoy it today.
