SEREMBAN: Konsortium Transnasional Bhd (KTB) will resume its Cityliner stage bus service along 10 routes in the state from today.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said the decision was made after the state government reached an agreement with KTB via a memorandum of understanding signed yesterday.
He said that in the MoU, KTB had given a guarantee to resume services after the state government agreed to set up a special fund the Negri Sembilan Public Transport Trust Fund.
“The operations will resume tomorrow morning. For every kilometre and its frequency, we will give a subsidy.
“But this is not subsidy for the bus but for the convenience of the public,” he told reporters after the signing of the MoU here.
Among the routes involved are Seremban to Nilai-KLIA, Port Dickson-Teluk Kemang, Tampin, Rantau, Senawang, Linggi, Sikamat, Rasah Jaya and Kajang.
Hasan said the fund was set up to avoid similar disruption of bus services in the future.
The MoU would be in force until Jan 31, and he would leave it to Land and Public Transport Commission (SPAD) to introduce a policy to resolve problems with the bus company after that.
