GEORGE TOWN: Proton car buyers can now expect faster delivery of their vehicles, thanks to two centralised logistic hubs set up by the national car maker.
The fully computerised hubs at Sijangkang, near Banting, and Tanjung Malim, are aimed at improving efficiency and reducing logistic costs of its vehicle distribution and delivery system.
In the past, Proton delivered vehicles to its sales branches and dealers on an anticipated supply and demand basis but some cars were kept for long periods in showrooms or yards before being sold.
Proton Edar Sdn Bhd (car sales) general manager Sidik Abdul Hamid confirmed that cars could be delivered faster to customers under the new system.
