I SELDOM take public transport but as I was tired of driving, my friend and I recently decided to take the KTM Komuter service from Subang Jaya to the Mid Valley Megamall.
I am ashamed of KTM and the service it provides.
The coaches were packed and there was no room to move.
On top of that the airconditioning was not working. So you can imagine how stuffy it was.
How do people get to work daily using this service?
I was told by regular commuters that this is usually the case.
Where are the policies to ensure that these coaches are properly maintained?
Why isn’t any step taken to ensure that there are a sufficient number of coaches for the increasing number of passengers?
Recently, the Government announced that it was going to proceed with the MRT plan in certain areas.
We can’t even maintain what we currently have, so why spend billions on what we can’t maintain?
In the process of constructing the MRT, land acquisition is carried out despite protests by the residents.
MRT lines are proposed to be constructed close to certain existing condominiums. Where are the Government policies to ensure that the construction of the MRT is done within the stipulated guidelines?
The Government has come up with a slogan, Rakyat didahulukan (people first) but why aren’t residents’ views taken into account before the acquisition of land?
Enforcement is poor or non-existent.
