KUALA LUMPUR: The two most recent Bus Expressway Transit (BET) service routes have seen an increasing growth in ridership since their introduction in July.

The BET7 and BET8 provide express bus services on the Sri Nilam-Lebuh Ampang route and Semenyih-Pasar Seni route respectively, enabling direct travel access between the two suburbs and downtown Kuala Lumpur.

As of September, the BET7 service route marked an average ridership of 254 passengers daily between Sri Nilam and Lebuh Ampang.

The BET8 marked an average ridership of 214 passengers who travelled between Semenyih and Pasar Seni since the beginning of its service.

The two latest BET routes allowed commuters to save 30 to 75 minutes of travel time each way compared to the previous travel time of 60 to 120 minutes on regular routes.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha during his bus ride on BET8 in October, said he would take into consideration the feedback and suggestions received by the commuters to further improve the buses' schedules.
