Come next year KTM commuters in Serdang do not have to worry about finding parking space near the station.
The federal government has made good its promise to overcome the shortage of parking space at the station.
Construction work on a three-tiered parking complex is in full gear and the complex is expected to be completed in middle of next year.
Serdang Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Liew Yuen Keong, who announced the project in April, said he was happy that the Government had seen fit to allocate a considerable amount of money to put up the complex.
Before the project started there were only 85 parking lots at the KTM station and because of lack of the space many motorists parked along road kerbs or drove all the way to a business centre, across the road.
“When the complex is ready motorists can park there for as little as RM3 for a full day,” Liew told StarMetro during a site visit.
More than 200 residents use the KTM Komuter daily and the station is also used as a hub for RapidKL buses.
