SELAYANG Municipal Council has been urged to look into a recurring pothole problem at the junction between Persiaran KIP and Persiaran Industri Bandar Sri Damansara.
Residents want the council to look into the foundation of the road along Persiaran KIP where large potholes keep appearing.
They said Taman KIP (formerly known as Kepong Industrial Park) being an industrial area needs better roads to cope with the heavy traffic.
According to a resident H.K. Siew, the potholes at the T-junction between Persiaran KIP and Persiaran Industri Bandar Sri Damansara are caused by heavy traffic along the junction.
“Since the last time we complained, Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) has re-surfaced the potholes but the foundation is not strong enough to cope with the heavy traffic,” he said.
“The potholes keep appearing again and again.”
He said both the councillors and the officials at MPS should visit the area and assess the condition themselves.
Another resident Austin Lau said the problem still persists because of heavy vehicles plying the road.
“This is an industrial area where lorries are using the junction all the time,” he said.
“If the council does not improve the foundation of the road, the potholes will continue to appear after each time it is re-surfaced.”
MPS public relations officer Mohd Zin Masaod cannot be reached for comments.
