PUTRAJAYA: Those who have not collected their fuel rebate yet will just have to kiss the money goodbye.
The final deadline for the rebate claim of up to RM625 was April 14 and no further extension was given, said Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs secretary-general Datuk Mohd Zain Mohd Dom.
"The government was kind enough to give a two-week extension and if they still haven't taken their money, sorry," he said.
The fuel rebate was introduced last year when petrol prices skyrocketed by nearly 40 per cent to RM2.70 a litre (RON 97) while diesel prices were at RM2.58. It was a measure to help consumers cope with the fuel price hike and rising cost of living.
