RESIDENTS of Bayu Damansara are also banding together to object against a proposed highway that will run behind their neighbourhood in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya.
Bayu Damansara Owners and Residents Association (Bayuzen) president Col. Mohd Shaifuddin Mohd Shariff said while they had minimal details on the proposed Damansara Shah Alam Highway (DASH), they had learnt that one of its alignments would run behind Bayu Damansara.
He said residents only found about the project through the media.
“We are concerned about how this project will affect our community due to its proximity to our homes and want to register our dissatisfaction with the authorities.” he added.
StarMetro had reported last month that Mutiara Damansara residents are saying a firm no to the proposed highway that will cut through their neighbourhood.
The proposed highway will link Puncak Alam in Shah Alam to the Sprint and Damansara-Puchong Highway in Petaling Jaya.
In addition to the 273 Bayu Damansara households that would be affected by the project, Bayuzen deputy president Mohd Shukri Mustaffa said the proposed alignment that would run along Jalan Kenyalang 11/14 and
affect other residential areas nearby.
On Bayuzen’s next move, Mohd Shaifuddin said they would write to Kota Damansara assemblyman Dr Mohd Nasir Hashim and Petaling Jaya mayor Datuk Mohamad Roslan Sakiman highlighting their concerns and objections against the proposed highway.
