KUALA LUMPUR: PLUS Expressways Berhad Thursday announced an almost 20% discount on toll charges between midnight until 7am for six days, in conjunction with the coming Deepavali festival holidays.

Its managing director Datuk Noorizah Abd Hamid, in a statement, said road users would be able to enjoy the benefit on top of the current daily 10% discount for first class category of cars, on the PLUS and Elite expressways during the off-peak times.

For the Deepavali period, the discount will be on Nov 1,2,3, 8, 9 and 10 and for cars that exit and pay charges at Plus, Elite and second-link toll plazas, excluding the Bukit Kayu Hitam toll plaza, Bangunan Sultan Iskandar, Johor Bahru Causeway, Tanjung Kupang toll plaza and the Butterworth-Kulim highway.

"The discount is part of the PLUS' travelling incentive programme for motorists who use the highways outside the busy periods," she said.

Noorizah said the programme was to enable the customers enjoy a more comfortable and smooth travelling during the festive season.
