A man who bought a second-hand 4-wheel-drive vehicle was disappointed when the tribunal refused to grant him full payment for the car sent for repair several days after he had bought it.
The vehicle’s owner Boon Keng Mui claimed he purchased it from a second-hand car dealer for RM68,000 on July 5 and paid RM5,000 to repair it.
Rungit, in his judgment, said that Boon was at fault as he should have taken the car to Puspakom or a workshop before buying it.
“You should have asked for warranty. A second-hand car is your responsibility not the dealer’s.
The tribunal allowed Boon to have a RM1,000 compensation from the dealer.
