BATU PAHAT: Notices will be sent to remind motorists of the expiry date of their driving licence and road tax.
Road Transport Department (JPJ) director-general Datuk Solah Mat Hassan said the reminders would be sent monthly to those whose driving licence or road tax are about to expire that month.
“This is a service to the people. Now, they will have no excuse for forgetting that their road tax or driving licence has expired,” he told reporters at the opening ceremony of the RM2.6mil JPJ branch in Sri Gading here Tuesday.
Beginning this month, JPJ has sent out notices to 500,000 driving licence holders and 800,000 vehicle owners.
Solah urged the public to renew their driving licences or road taxes upon receiving the notices.
He said that by the end of this year, all 68 JPJ state offices and branches nationwide would be able to provide the full range of services to the public.
