JOHOR BARU: Police believe they have busted a carjacking syndicate with the arrest of a workshop owner and his four Indonesian workers on Wednesday.
The 40-year-old man and his workers were detained in a raid at a workshop in Ulu Tiram, here, at 5pm.
Two Daihatsu Deltha lorries, a Hicom Perkasa lorry and a Mazda van were seized.
"The vehicles had been reported stolen in Seri Alam and Johor Baru," said state police chief Datuk Mokhtar Mohd Shariff.
"We also found steel cutters and gas tanks, believed to be tools used in carjacking activities."
