PETALING JAYA: The number of Touch ’n Go reload lanes on PLUS highways will be maintained until there are enough reload facilities off the road.
PLUS Expressways Bhd corporate communications general manager Khalilah Mohd Talha said the company would work with Touch ’n Go Sdn Bhd and review the number of reload lanes on its highways only when it was convenient enough for motorists to top up their card credit at other places.
“Our priority is to reduce congestion at toll plazas and we noticed there were long queues to reload cards on the highway,” she said when contacted yesterday.
“When more Touch ’n Go kiosks are set up off the road, it won’t make sense to have so many lanes to top up credit,” Khalilah added.
She said this when asked to comment on the reaction of motorists over the change in times for the reloading of Touch ’n Go cards.
Touch ’n Go Sdn Bhd recently expanded its services to seven merchant outlets.
Khalilah said PLUS also had not received any complaints about congestion at toll plazas since the Touch ’n Go reload time was extended from 4pm to 8pm on March 10.
Initially, the reload time was between 7.30am and 7.30pm, which was later shortened to between 9am and 4pm.
