The Sepang Municipal Council will now focus on enforcement action against restaurants that place tables and chairs in parking areas.
Council president Sayuthi Abu Bakar said council was getting calls from the public who were upset with restaurant operators who took up parking lots as early as 3pm.
He said these operators were flouting the law and they were required to apply for a licence to occupy the parking lots which they were allowed to only after 7pm.
“Compared with other areas, this is not a big problem in Sepang but it is better to nip the problem in the bud and create awareness on proper guidelines,’’ said Sayuthi.
He said the local authority would also carry our raids aganist illegal cybercafes, unlicensed traders and drivers who caused traffic obstruction.
Sayuthi added that this was to ensure that the problem did not get worse.
He warned those involved in illegal operations to stop such activities to avoid being slapped with summonses.
Sayuthi said there would not be any compromise and enforcement officers had been told to conduct checks regularly Taman Puchong Perdana and its surrounding areas where such activities were getting out of control.
