KLUANG: The Home Ministry wants the police, Road Transport Department (JPJ) and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to discuss standardising the collection of traffic summonses.
Its minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said the time had come for them to make a study on a more efficient system of collection.
“The discussion is also important so that coordination of enforcement between the relevant agencies can be made in an appropriate manner,” he said after opening the group meeting of branches in the Sembrong Umno division at Felda Kahang Barat here yesterday.
Thanking motorists who had settled their summonses, Hishammuddin said he was satisfied with the extension of the grace period until March 8.
He urged those who were dissatisfied with the summonses to lodge complaints.
“We don’t want to victimise anyone.
“If motorists cannot afford to pay, we will ask them to come forward so that we can find a way to resolve the problem or they should make an appeal to pay up in instalments,” he said.
