KOTA BARU: The state Road Transport Department (JPJ) will focus on express and tour buses during the seasonal balik kampung rush, and all operators are to produce log books detailing their operations.
Enforcement officers will also visit bus terminals to check on touts and ensure that no one takes advantage of the rush.
State JPJ director Abdul Ghani Che Kassim said the log books were essential in ascertaining the buses' routes, the number of passengers carried and whether they observed road safety regulations.
The JPJ would also assist the traffic police in conducting checks at 14 stretches in the state regarded as dangerous, he said.
The public are urged to take photographs of vehicles of traffic offenders and to lodge complaints at the 24-hour hotline 09-766 6166.
