JPJ issues 800 summonses

Postby admin » Tue Nov 27, 2007 1:56 am

KEMAMAN: Summonses have been sent to 800 people found to have committed traffic offences by the state Road Transport Department's Snoop Squad.

State JPJ director Fauzi Harun said the squad was formed in September to watch out for traffic offenders at accident-prone areas.

He said personnel from the squad don plainclothes to avoid detection.

Fauzi said the squad managed to take pictures of motorists committing offences like using their handphones while driving, overtaking on double lines, parking on emergency lanes and beating the traffic lights.
