KOTA KINABALU: Sabah will soon have its own academy for Road Transport Department officers.
The RM36 million project will be constructed through a private-funded initiative near Sungai Batang about 16km from Sandakan.
Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Seri Lajim Ukin revealed this here yesterday after visiting the state RTD headquarters in Penampang near here.
"The final details of the project will be discussed early next month and construction work will start soon," he added.
"The academy will be used to train officers from the state and Sarawak," he said.
Lajim said this after he was given a briefing about the department in Sabah by deputy director-general Datuk Solah Mat Hassan and state director Wan Idris Wan Sariff.http://www.nst.com.my/Thursday/National ... index_html
