Residents of Aman Siara in Rawang want to know why a completed ramp to connect the area to Jalan Ipoh is not open for use.
House owner Lim Heng Chian, 61, said earlier residents had to drive about 5km on Jalan Ipoh pass the Templer’s Park to make a U-turn to get to other side of the road.
“Now, with a new U-turn, residents still have to drive about 2km to access the other side of the road,” Lim said.
Resident Steven Tay, 55, said residents were confused and were kept in the dark by the Joint Management Body and therefore there were many speculations on the status of the ramp.
“By opening the ramp, traffic would be much smoother on the stretch of Jalan Ipoh, especially during peak hours.
“The ramp will give motorists direct access to the other side of the road heading to Kuala Lumpur,” he said.
Another house owner H.K Sia, 42, said the Public Works Department (JKR) told him that they had nothing to do with the ramp any more as it fell under the jurisdiction of the Selayang Municipal Council.
