The state has allocated RM5mil to upgrade Sungai Rajah, which is causing flood problems in Rawang town. The approved project will be divided into two phases.
The first phase that stretches about 2km near Rawang town will start in November while the second phase will be the upgrading of water flow and building of a retention pond.
Rawang assemblyman Gan Pei Nei, who visited the site recently, said the project would take over a year-and-a-half to complete.
Gan pointed out that the previous contractor appointed to finish the upgrading work failed to complete the project due to his utility cost.
