KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic was slow at several locations along major highways as people returned from the Aidil Adha celebrations in their hometowns.

A spokesman for the Malaysian Highway Authority said vehicles were moving slowly at the entry to the Juru Toll (south-bound), Changkat Jering to Jelapang, Simpang Pulai to Tapah and from Bidor to Slim River as of noon yesterday.

“In the south, traffic from Port Dickson to Nilai was also slow-moving,” he said.

He said traffic along the East Coast Highway was busy from the Karak toll plaza heading towards the Bentong toll plaza.

A spokesman from PLUSLINE said traffic was slow-moving from Port Dickson heading towards the Seremban rest area.

“Although traffic is heavy, the highway is not as congested as in Simpang Pulai to Gopeng and just before the tunnel heading towards Ipoh,” he said.

The spokesman said although there was an accident in the morning, it did not involve any casualties or cause any traffic congestion.
