PETALING JAYA: Traffic was heavy on all major expressways heading into Kuala Lumpur as city folk returned after a week-long break.
PLUS, in its Twitter updates, reported at 4pm yesterday that south-bound traffic remained slow from Bukit Gantang towards Kuala Kangsar and from the Sungai Perak rest area towards the Menora tunnel.
They advised road users to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front and to begin their journey either before noon or after 6pm to avoid the jam.
PLUS reported that north-bound traffic, although heavy, was still moving smoothly at about 4pm yesterday.
Traffic was slow from Seremban towards Nilai and Kuala Lumpur and from Kuala Lumpur towards Tanjung Malim, Bidor and Ipoh.
An accident at KM449.8 from Rawang towards Sungai Buloh Hospital had earlier caused congestion in the area but it was cleared by 4.30pm.
At about 5pm, traffic was heavy and slow-moving before the Juru toll towards Kuala Lumpur while south-bound traffic from the city towards Seremban, Ayer Keroh, Yong Peng and Skudai was reportedly smooth.
