KUALA LUMPUR: The Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) will conduct a public inquiry into the allegation that law enforcement personnel used excessive force in Bandar Mahkota Cheras on July 23 and 24.
Its commissioner, Datin Paduka Zaitoon Datuk Othman, said the inquiry among others was to find out whether any personnel, in performing his duty to maintain law and order, had used excessive force during the May 27 incident.
It would also look into whether there was any violation of human rights of any person or persons and who was responsible for such violation, she said in a statement released here.
