GOMBAK: As many as 25 expressways in the country will be offering discounts and rebates during the Hari Raya season.
The Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway and the East Coast Expressway Phase 1 will be toll-free from 9pm till 6am on Sept 7, 8, 15 and 16.
Other expressways are offering discounts which range from 5% to 36%.
Meanwhile expressways in the Klang Valley will begin offering discounts on Sept 10 only.
From 12.01am to 12pm, the LDP and Sprint Highway will be offering a rebate of 60sen and 20sen respectively for all vehicle classes.
There will be a 30sen cut for all motorists using the SMART Tunnel from 12am to 12pm.
On the Ampang-KL Elevated Highway and Duke Expressway, a 20sen cut will be given while over at the Guthrie, Cheras - Kajang and Kemuning - Shah Alam Highway, motorists will enjoy a 10sen discount from 12.01am to 11.59pm.
Others include the South Klang Valley Expressway and Silk Highway which will be offering a 20sen and 5sen cut from 12am to 11.59pm. Kesas Highway users will enjoy a 20sen discount and the Maju Expressway will reduce toll at its Putrajaya exit from RM2.50 to RM2.30 and RM1.50 to RM1.40 at its Salak South exit.
No discounts will be given at the Penang Bridge and the Butterworth Outer Ring Road.
The incentives, announced by Works Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor, are aimed at encouraging road users to travel outside peak hours.
