Traffic nighmare in Bandar Sunway

Postby admin » Wed Jul 07, 2010 9:11 am

AFTER the opening of Taylors University College in Bandar Sunway (TUC) some months ago, there has been an influx of traffic going to TUC passing through the residential area of PJS7. The university college is expected to host about 10,000 to 15,000 students.

A dialogue was held between TUC representatives and residents of Bandar Sunway in May, attended by residents’ association representatives (BSRA) and Subang Jaya assemblyman Hannah Yeoh.

TUC representatives told the residents that the first phase of the entry/exit project would be completed on July 15 while the second phase would be completed some six months later.

While waiting for the project to complete, residents and the schoolchildren have to endure daily traffic crawl in the area during peak time in the morning and evening.

In the dialogue, TUC representatives also proposed a plan to reschedule the classes for students but judging from the traffic crawl at Jalan PJS7/13 and Jalan PJS7/8, this plan has failed to solve the problem.

The reason is because there is not enough parking space available at TUC. Most of the students turn up early fighting for parking space. In doing so, they add to the busy traffic of residents going to work and the children going to school.

My concern is about the safety of the children, many from Kampung Lindungan and Subang Indah, who walk to school using Jalan PJS7/13.
