SIBU: More than 6,000 rural folk in Sarawak have obtained the B2 driving licences for their motorcycles under a special programme of the Road Transport Department (JPJ).
The programme, known as the “One Community One Road Transport Department” programme, began about 10 years ago.
JPJ Corporate Division director Zairie Mod. Ali said the department would continue to hold the programme in Sabah and Sarawak because there was still a great need for it in the two states, especially in the rural areas.
The latest programme held in Kabong bazaar in Betong Division last night saw 485 villagers getting their licences.
