KUALA LUMPUR: Heavy rain in the city caused flash floods at main roads after several rivers including Sungai Gombak and Sungai Bonus overflowed.

Light vehicles were also seen to be trapped at various roads in the nation's capital city following flash floods measuring as high as 0.7 metres.

A spokesperson from the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) Operations Room said among those affected was Jalan Tun Razak, starting from the Pusrawi Hospital heading to Cheras.

This has obstructed traffic for motorists on that route, but those heading towards the Pahang roundabout were not affected.

Other roads affected by the water were Jalan Ampang, in front of the Risda Building and Jalan Semarak.

The spokesperson added that 13 houses were flooded, of which 12 were located in Taman Sri Rampai and one in Taman P.Ramlee, Setapak.
