KUALA LUMPUR: Slow-moving traffic was seen on stretches of the North-South Expressway (NSE) and New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) as thousands of city folk left for their hometowns to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha Wednesday.

A PLUS spokesman said heavily-congested stretches were before the south-bound side of the Juru toll plaza in Penang, and in Jelapang, Perak from KM263.8 to KM262.6.

"This is due to road closure on the Jelapang south-bound side for slope maintenance. The congestion only happened today because people started going back to their villages this afternoon," he said.

He said there was also slow-moving traffic from Bandar Putra Mahkota to Nilai and to Seremban.

Meanwhile, among the congested stretches of the NKVE were Shah Alam heading towards Dataran Prima and from Kota Damansara to Dataran Prima.
