Residents happy with Kesas for attending to their problems
This comes only a week after the residents made a plea for the area to be cleared.
Its public relations executive Khairani Mohamed Salleh said the fence built by the highway concessionaire was a popular target of vandals.
“We have been fixing the fence over and over again. The work never ends. We can have it fixed this week and next week it would be torn down again,” said Khairani.
She added that it was difficult for Kesas to find the culprits behind the vandalism as the residents of the apartments were not cooperative in helping to solve the issue.
Apartment resident Norliza Ramli said break-ins and snatch thefts were on the rise as the residential area was situated adjacent to the highway.
“We suspect most of these thieves park on the motorcycle lane before climbing over the fence that separates us and the highway,” she said.
Debris from construction sites such as chipped tiles and concrete slabs were also seen strewn along the fence.
Taman Mawar community head Zaulkefli Ahmad, agreed that residents should play a pro-active role in nabbing those who frequent the area to dispose of their garbage.
“We must all learn to guard our area in order to find out who actually brings rubbish here, if no one bothers we will never be able to solve this problem,” he said.
Zaulkefli added that the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) could perhaps clean up the area as part of it was under the council’s jurisdiction.
“The public may not dispose of their rubbish there if they see the place is extremely clean compared with the condition of the place now,” he said.
Puchong MCA division chairman and Kinrara state liaison officer Wong Hock Aun, who met residents and representatives of Kesas at the site on Jalan TK 5/26 said: “We are glad that Kesas is prompt in answering the residents’ plea and provided the repair works efficiently.”
He also suggested that Kesas built a 500m sound barrier for the residents to block out the noise coming from the highway into their homes.
“At present the barrier stops at the link houses as the apartments were built much later after the highway was constructed,” said Wong.
