1,397 traffic summonses issued over two days

JOHOR BARU: The state police conducted an integrated operation in five districts in the state recently, issuing 1,397 traffic summonses over two days.

State traffic chief Supt T. Raveendran said the operation was conducted in Johor Baru (South), Johor Baru (North), Seri Alam, Nusajaya and Kulaijaya.

The operation involved 15 officers and 200 personnel from various departments including Traffic, Narcotics, CID and Commercial Crime.

Supt Raveendran said 501 vehicles were compounded in the operation, of which 487 were motorcycles while the remaining were cars and a van.

“Twenty seven people were arrested for various offences.,” he said.

Supt Raveendran said that of the number, 19 were tested positive for drugs in their urine tests while five were arrested in connection with motorcycle theft.

Two were arrested for possessing false driving licences while one was arrested for possession of pornographic VCDs,” he said.
